About

Jennifer Lugris is best known for her vibrant, intensely fractured, multi-panel paintings of everyday life. Her images contain abstracted, flattened and textured forms that push and pull to create new perceptions on how we view ourselves and our surroundings. Inspired by her mixed Uruguayan, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese background, Lugris describes her work as an ill fitting puzzle like the ancestry that makes up who she is. Her award-winning work has been exhibited and published internationally and can be found in the collection of the Art, Design & Architecture Museum in Santa Barbara, CA. She received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara and currently lives in Sacramento, CA with her husband, dogs, cats, and chickens.
