Learn the cathartic process of acrylic pouring!
Sat, April 6 / 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Are you ready to learn about the secret ingredients for a successful acrylic pour painting? Join us for this free-flowing workshop, perfect for beginners/intermediate levels. Teaching artist, Wende Obata will share the do’s and don’ts of this abstract & expressive art medium. Participants will learn the basics of color mixing, safety procedures, how to properly prepare the work space, how to create unique cells in your painting and how to handle a butane burner to solidify the paint! Those who have already taken a workshop or have experimented with acrylic pouring on their own are invited to learn something new with the use of different tools such as strainers. Experimenting with bold, vibrant and metallic colors will produce beautiful results!
Each participant will create 2 acrylic pour paintings on 12×12 inch canvases.
Please note: paintings will be wet at the end of the workshop, therefore we encourage participants to leave them in the gallery overnight to allow time to fully dry.
