Create, Sculpt & Form your own Clay Mask!
Sat, December 8 / 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
This will be the second offering of the 2-day Clay Mask Workshop series. It will begin with a brief survey of the history of mask making and how masks have been used for performance, disguise, concealment, and protection through the centuries by different cultures. The group will discuss contemporary artists that use masks in their work and how their art investigates identity. Expressive Art Therapist, Gloria Rill, will be leading the group through mindfulness conversation about this creative experience at the beginning and end of each day. She will be encouraging participants to explore parts of themselves, their emotions & connections to their time in the service.
Participants will make their own masks with clay, lead by ceramic artist, Tony Natsoulas. All materials, clay, tools and supplies will be provided!
