Blue Line Arts invites you to come to the 3rd Saturday Closing Art Reception for your last chance to meet the talented artists who have work on display in the gallery and discover the world through a lens as Sacramento Galleries in the month of April all highlight Photography.
Gambatte! Legacy of an Enduring Spirit:
Triumphing over adversity Japanese American WWII Incarceration Reflections Then and Now: Presented in the Coker Main Gallery: Historic photographs of Japanese Americans during WWII taken by War Relocation Authority photographs, Dorothea Lange, and Tom Parker, juxtaposed with contemporary portraits of the same individuals of their descendants from Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Paul Kitagaki Jr. A visual exploration of a the Japanese concept of gambatte, or to triumph over a display of past and present images.
Picture It in the WestPark Workshop Gallery: Portrait photograph show capturing the characters and personalities of the people around us.
Artist Lecture from 5p.m. to 6p.m. featuring the following:
Special Performance: We are excited to share that Placer Ume Taiko will be playing their drums in the gallery during the reception!
Art Reception from 6-8:30pm: Join us for wine from Casque, beer from Knee Deep Brewing and light refreshments. This is a great opportunity to support the artists in your community who have their work in the gallery. There is lots of free parking and this event is free. All ages are welcome.
