SCG ART Workshop II

3-Day Ceramic Workshop for Intermediate/Advanced!

Adult Programs

Tue, September 1 / 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Led by this year’s Susan Cooley Gilliom Artist in Residence (SCG ART), this workshop is a hands-on opportunity for intermediate/advanced level participants to deepen their exploration and learn how to make sculptural and/or functional objects with porcelain, and combine their forms with 2-Dimensional imagery.

Jason will demonstrate methods of hand-building with porcelain and teach his process of painting with underglaze. Various concepts for combining two-dimensional imagery with three-dimensional form will be discussed.

He will also demonstrate his use of press molds and slip cast molds. All participants will have the opportunity to try Jason’s hand-building process and use Jason’s underglaze painting techniques on bisque ware or a bone dry piece. Each student will receive one-on-one instruction.  Discover more information about Jason Walker, his work and SCG ART.
