About the Exhibition

Blue Line Arts is proud to present the final exhibition for the Sierra Wax Artists, a group of Northern California artists who have convened in the Sacramento Region for the last decade to share knowledge and support for artists working in wax mediums.  Founding members include Charlotte Cooper, Don Barnes, and Karen Brooks.

The group has previously organized exhibitions at the Crocker Art Museum, Arthouse on R, and 48 Natoma.

While this marks a bittersweet conclusion to the SWA's history, the group has chosen to end in celebration, sponsoring this juried showcase of some of the top talent working in both hot and cold wax mediums throughout California.

Juror's Statement

"Serving as juror for this exhibition was a delightful experience. The excellence and variety of technique and the strong visual command of the submitted work is what impressed me most. I spent many hours looking carefully at everything while making my choices before finally selecting the prize winners. It was not easy, because there were so many stunning works. I am honored to have served as juror and wish to thank all the artists, as well as Blue Line Arts Co-Director MaryTess Mayall for requesting my participation." - Nancy Youdelman
