While I like to consider myself a musician, my place has always been in front of the stage, rather than on it. In my early years as a photojournalist, I was fortunate to cut my teeth along with aspiring music critics fighting it out in the scrum of storied small venues in Boston, never knowing if the artists we covered were to become the city’s next big stars. These local clubs are the soul of rock, where anyone can drop in and discover something new on any given night, the sort of music not found on the airwaves.
Collaborating with musicians has been a rewarding passion. There is a natural synergy between the musical and graphical arts, and working with performers both on- and off-stage has pushed my creative output.
