Statement from Frank Lopez-Motnyk:
You loved your shoes my darling Malika. You especially liked your ballerina shoes. The ones you slept with because when you dreamed in the prism of sleep, you were a princess.
The two paintings I submitted are an amalgam of Retablo and Ofrenda styles to document the memory of two children in this time of Covid-19. These are fictitious children but are there to represent the many that have lost their lives to this disease.
