Description
Statement from Francisco Chavira:
I was born in Mexico but raised in Sacramento. In this work I explore what it means to be an immigrant, desperately wanting to be connected to my homeland while growing up in a different country. The images are inspired by traditional Mexican pottery from Capula, Michoacan called AlfarerÃa Punteada. I explored my heritage and thus created an expression of my immigrant story.
