Exhibition Dates: September 13 - October 26, 2019

Opening Reception: September 21, 4-8pm

SCG ART Residency Reception: October 19, 4-8pm

Blue Line Arts is proud to feature a solo show by egg tempera artist Teagan McLarnan in the Westpark Gallery.  The subject matter ranges from photo-realistic still-lifes of produce to succulents to nude portraits interrupted by modern, minimalist lines, all rendered with exacting attention to detail.

"Egg tempera allows me to bring the craftsmanship back in my art by building my own panels, cooking traditional rabbit skin glue/marble dust gesso and mixing my own paint with a yolk of an egg," states McLarnan. "With the inability to blend with egg tempera paint, form is built up though many thin layers of cross-hatching and optical mixing. The traditional and delicate process in which to make an egg tempera painting inspires me to bring this unique medium to contemporary art."

Teagan will be delivering an artist lecture during the reception on September 21st, beginning at 4pm.

For those interested in learning how to create their own egg tempera paints, McLarnan will be hosting an Egg Tempera Painting Workshop  October 11th-13th.  Students will gain hands on experience and learn the traditional methods of the past to create contemporary art.
