SCG Workshop l with Florine Démosthène: Cut, Paste, Imagine

"Make Bold Choices and Happy Accidents" ~Florine Démosthène

Adult Programs | SCG

September 12 / 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In “Cut, Paste, Imagine”, participants step into the role of creative researchers, using scissors, glue and curiosity to invent entirely new creatures through collage. By cutting, layering, and recombining found images, textures, and unexpected materials, you’ll splice together animals, objects and environments to create a hybrid being that feels strange, powerful, and alive with story.

This workshop treats collage as a creative experiment; part art making, part world-building. Guided prompts and fast-moving exercises encourage play, bold choices, and happy accidents. Perfection is left at the door; curiosity and risk-taking take the lead. If you’ve ever wondered what might happen when imagination gets a lab coat, this is your chance to find out.

By the end of the session, each participant will leave with a completed creature collage and a short piece of original creature lore, revealing its origins, abilities, and secrets. Expect surprises, unexpected combinations, and the thrill of making something that has never existed before. No prior art experience required.
