September 8 / 12:00 pm - September 24 / 2:00 pm
Join us for Open Studio Hours with artist M. Florine Démosthène and experience a rare behind-the-scenes look at her creative practice. Visitors are invited to explore works in progress, learn about the ideas and materials that shape her multidisciplinary work, and engage in informal conversation with the artist.
M. Florine Démosthène is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans drawing, sculpture, and installation to explore the human body as a site of memory, transformation, and spiritual connection. Drawing from West African cosmologies, diasporic histories, and contemporary experiences, Démosthène combines traditional symbolism with modern materials to examine identity, love, ritual, and ancestral presence. Through layered imagery and sculptural forms, her work invites viewers to consider the relationships between the physical and spiritual, the personal and collective, and the past and the future.
