Light, Color and Culture

This exhibition is a celebration of the enduring legacy of my life's work as a multi-media creator, adventurer, indigenous educator and cultural activist. The theme of the show is a poetic vision grounded in the concept of an “Ancient Future.” The show is a comprehensive collection of work that includes studio paintings, graphics, crafts, light and video, public art works and murals that span 50 years of creation.

Coming of age in the 1960’s shaped and guided my life and my artistic inspirations throughout my career. My artistic vision has evolved and responded to the last half century of time that I have been creating professionally. At its core, my career is an expression of my deep commitment to my cultural heritage and community. I have worked tirelessly over many years advocating and implementing arts education for children and in schools and for the greater community at large. I am currently an Artistic/Cultural Mentor for the United Auburn Indian Community Tribal School in Loomis, CA.

This exhibition is an invitation to journey through my inner and outward visionary landscape. I share these works and ideas with a vivid imagination and open heart. My hope is that you receive them in freedom and love. As we witness and receive the gifts of our Ancient ancestors, we have the opportunity to share these gifts with the world bringing intention and joy to our Future. Moving through light and color interwoven with

culture, time, stories of inner and outer worlds, transformation, healing, and renewal; the show shares the gift of the Ancient while moving towards the Future. The artworks selected here are representations of a much larger body of completed works of which many are included in prominent private collections and settings nationally and internationally.
