About the Exhibition
On view through October 29, Celebrating California features 55 works of multiple genres, from pristine landscapes and seascapes to fascinating figures and sophisticated still lifes, all of which draw inspiration from California’s iconic natural beauty and enviable lifestyle.
“The California Art Club is delighted to have joined forces with Blue Line Arts to present Celebrating California and spotlight how today’s representational painters and sculptors are expanding upon the craftmanship established by the pioneering artists who founded our organization in 1909,” said Eire Hoke, the Club’s manager of exhibitions.
“Our two organizations share a commitment to engaging the community with inspiring arts programming, and this collaboration provides an ideal launch for this new series of exhibitions that aims to expand the interest in traditional art forms,” added Hoke.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, the California Art Club boasts 13 regional chapters, which organize activities and events for their local membership. Over its rich, 111-year history, the CAC has worked to promote representational art that is informed by academic tradition. While much of the work draws inspiration from iconic California landscapes and the American West, the exhibition also includes figurative, still life, and urban scenes.
