SCG Artist Lecture with Jane Ingram Allen

Meet our latest featured SCG artist and hear her story

SCG | Adult Programs | Youth & Family Programs | Special Arts Events

September 20 / 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for a lecture with environmental artist Jane Ingram Allen as she shares her journey of creating art in harmony with nature. Known for her handmade paper works embedded with seeds and crafted from local plant materials, Jane’s art transforms over time—blossoming, dissolving, and returning to the earth.

In addition to her innovative eco-art practice, Jane will share stories from her extensive international career as an artist-in-residence in countries around the world—including Taiwan, Japan, Brazil, Nepal, Turkey, France, China, and more. Her global experiences inform a practice that is as rooted in environmental awareness as it is in cultural exchange.

Learn how her work explores the cycles of growth and decay, our connection to nature, and pressing issues like climate change and water scarcity. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from an artist whose work literally grows into the world.

The ART program represents a lasting legacy to the beloved local artist and environmental advocate. Short-term residencies and workshops taught Susan by established and highly reputable artists are offered to develop and enhance the visual arts in Placer County.
