Peter Combe made a remarkable impression on Blue Line Arts with his distinctive paintings created entirely from paint swatches, transforming an everyday material into richly layered and visually compelling portraits. His connection with Blue Line began with the 2021 Crocker Kingsley, where his work received an award from the juror and was selected by Crocker Art Museum curators for display at the museum. Blue Line also sold his work to a local collector, beginning a lasting relationship that led to his solo exhibition, SUPERSTUDIO, later that year. The portrait featured here, from the collection of Clifton Taylor and Isabel Domeyko Taylor, is one Combe considers his most challenging and rewarding works. Peter continues to generously support Blue Line Arts and its mission.
